Regarding in-laws having the same first names. This is not as unusual as many may think. My ancestress Margaret Thomas nee Thomas had a daughter, three daughters-in-law, and at least two granddaughters all named Margaret Thomas! The same can happen with male first names and when a John Thomas married the sister of a John Thomas and had a son John Thomas and so on, then the fun really begins. I will check my notes to see id I can help. Be in touch asap.

OK, Benjamin Williams marries Celia Thomas in 1886, you say wife and mother have same maiden name? So have you found Benjamin on earlier census and then found the marriage record of his parents to find his mothers maiden name. The 1881 census (from your post) states him as a nephew to head of household, have you found out whether it is the man of the house or the wife he is actually the blood nephew of, which could obviously be a sister of one of those and so the surname Williams could be a sisters married name. I am happy to try and help with your queries but need to know a bit more of what you have found and importantly why/where you have found Benjamins' mothers maiden name to be Thomas. I enjoy trying to help with queries like this, if you would rather it be via PM please contact me.
Pontycymer was part of the parish of Llangeinor which would explain the address of the person marrying being recorded as being Llangeinor in the district of Bridgend.

My ancestress was a Cecille, or Cecil Thomas, there were many spellings. She had a brother David who lived at one time in Cwmafan. I do not know all of David's family and am wondering if my uncle is the same person as the David on your tree? Do you know from the marriage certificate of Celia what her father's occupation was? I am still trying to access census records to help you.
