Although the population expansion took place during the 1870s there are some still living in the valley who can trace their ancestors amongst the earliest recorded residents. I would like to compare notes with anyone who, like myself, have links with the community before 1870. I can trace back to 1801 and maybe a generation earlier and the exchange of information would help me build up a picture of the inter-relationship between local families.
