Hi
I've seen a couple of references to Gelli'r Onn Farm but can't work out how to reply to a thread.
I believe my wife's Gt x 5 Grandparents Thomas Thomas and his wife Elizabeth lived on the farm in about 1802 - and have found reference to Land Tax Assessments (for Llangeinor Parish). Also on here there is reference to 'Sheep Marks' that identify with the farm although I'm not sure of the date of those marks.
Does anyone know how / if I can access the Land Tax Assessments and Sheep Marks please? If there are any other potential records that would be great!
Andy

My 3x great grandparents were the Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas nee Elias late of Gelli’ron Farm, Pontycymmer. They were married in Glyncorrwg in 1800 before coming to Pontycymmer in time to appear in the Land Tax Assessment for Llangeinir Parish 1802. Would you care to let me know how your wife is related to Thomas and Elizabeth please? Thanks Colin.

The Land Tax Assessments for Llangeinor Parish were available at The Glamorgan Archives in Cardiff. It has been many years since I last viewed them. Some were missing whilst others were too fragile to handle. Unfortunately I don’t know the current accessibility of these records. Colin

To reply to entries please use The Reply to Topic facility usually just below the latest message in which you are interested. Hope this helps. Looking forward to assisting you. Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas of Gelli’ron had nine children, 3 sons followed by 6 daughters. Between them they produced a known 52 grandchildren although only 45 lived to adulthood. Thanks Colin
