I have just discovered on the 1921 census that an ancestor of mine, Morgan Thomas, was a mason in the Pontycymmer Co-operative Society. I assume that this society is similar or the same as the retail co-operative society only for services. I would be interested to know if anyone else has any further information or thoughts.
