We recently had enquiry from Australia about the Lluest Colliery explosion. A great uncle was thought to have been working at the pit at that time. After a bit of a rummage in our archive we were able to place the enquirers relative, Edgar Harman, Exactly. He was the pit bottom hitcher on that fatal morning and the first one up to tell of the explosion. A contemporary newspaper report quoted " His face was blanched with fear." A good start to the new year.
