Greetings, I am lookig for genealogy information for the Powis family that lived at 54 High Street in Pontycymmer in th early 1900's. My father Richard was born there and then came to the USA in the late 1920's. My grandfather's name was William and grandmother's name was Matilda. I am certain they are buried at the Pontycymmer Cemetery but I am not sure of the dates but probably in the 1930's. I would love to have a newspaper article relative to their deaths and a picture of their tomb stones if that would be possible! My grandmother worked for the Echo and I still have a "letter of recommendation" for my father from the editor of the Echo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Walter C. Powis, Sr. USA wcpowissr@gmail.com

Hi, have you found the family on any census records? I may be able to help a little if you haven't.
I can't help with burial records but the Glamorgan Family History Society may be able to, I'm fairly sure they have monumental inscriptions of Pontycymer cemetery.
